Distruptive Pattern Camouflage - Also called "Auscam" or "Ozcam", the Australian Disruptive Pattern Camouflage is a five colour camouflage pattern developed and trialled during the late 1970s and early 1980s by the Australian military. It is influenced partly by US Jungle Camouflage patterns, and was developed following aerial photography of the Australian terrain to determine which colours and patterns would be most suitable for camouflage uniforms.
Active camouflage - Active camouflage (or adaptive camouflage) is a group of camouflage technologies which would allow an object (usually military in nature) to blend into its surroundings by use of panels or coatings capable of changing color or luminosity. Active camouflage can be seen as having the potential to become the perfection of the art of camouflaging things from visual detection.
